One of my greatest accomplishments as Township Trustee has been maintaining a balanced budget while achieving steady fiscal growth. Through careful planning and responsible spending, we’ve improved and maintained our parks, fire department, road department, administration, and cemeteries without compromising financial stability. This approach ensures high-quality services for residents while protecting the township’s long-term financial health.

What are your qualifications for this position? (150 words)

With 15 years of leadership experience in the United States Air Force, I bring a strong foundation of discipline, service, and strategic decision-making to township governance. I currently serve as a board member for the Joint Emergency Medical Service, am an active member of the Warren County Township Association, and sit on the Warren County Regional Planning Commission, giving me broad insight into regional planning, emergency services, and local government collaboration. Property tax is one of the top issues for local residents. What are your thoughts on the current property tax issues? (150 words)

Property tax is a top concern for residents, and I understand the strain it can place on families. However, townships rely heavily on property tax revenue to fund essential services such as road maintenance, fire and EMS services, parks, cemeteries, and daily operations. A significant reduction in property tax funding would directly impact our ability to provide these critical services at current levels. While I support efforts to ensure taxes are fair and transparent, it's also vital to educate residents on how these funds sustain our community. I will continue to advocate for responsible budgeting, explore alternative funding opportunities, and work to ensure every tax dollar is used efficiently to benefit the township while protecting the services our residents depend on.

State laws often impact our county and the funding of local project depends on the state budget. What is your relationship with the local state representatives and senator? (100 words)

State laws and budgets directly impact our township’s ability to fund important local projects. I am actively working to grow and strengthen relationships with our local state representatives and senator to ensure Franklin Township’s needs are heard and addressed. Building these connections helps us stay informed on legislative changes and advocate more effectively for funding opportunities that support our roads, parks, emergency services, and other vital services. I am committed to maintaining open, productive communication with our state leaders to benefit our community now and in the future.

How have you been involved in the community outside of politics?

Outside of politics, I’ve been actively involved in the community by serving as an umpire and official for the Ohio High School Athletic Association, working with baseball, softball, and football associations. This role allows me to support local youth sports, promote fair play, and stay connected with families and schools across the area. Additionally, I regularly volunteer with local food banks and participate in various community service projects. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the challenges many residents face and strengthened my commitment to serving Franklin Township with empathy and dedication. Through these roles, I strive to give back, build relationships, and contribute positively to the community beyond my political work.

Are you running as a slate or as a team with any of the other candidates? (Not required)

I am committed to working collaboratively with all township trustee candidates. I believe that by fostering a spirit of cooperation and open communication, we can best serve the interests of Franklin Township residents.
